Green eggs and bugs

Green eggs and bugs
Originally uploaded by Soniaknits

As you can see I love to knit baby blankets. There is always a friend, a teacher, a friend of a friend, who is having a baby and would like to have a hand knitted blanket made specially for their baby. And I am always available to oblige. This one is an intermediate pattern and if you are interested in it send me an e-mail and I will forward it to you.

Oh! No!! Not another blogger talking about knitting!!

Oh! No!! Not another blogger talking about knitting!!
But why not? There are thousands of us who love to knit and who also enjoy reading and sharing ideas about our favorite hobby. It is just like another knitting book, and I don't need to point that there is always a new one in the shelves at the bookstores. Anyway, I started this blog a few years ago but with raising a family and other commitments it sort of stayed on the back burner. I still knit a lot, read several books, magazines, and blogs about knitting that it just made sense to write about it.
So what kind of project am I doing right now? Booties, baby booties for a charity project. I found this easy project (you can see the picture at Luci's blanket) and committed to give two dozens to a church. If you like the picture send me an e-mail and I will give you the pattern (intermediate). If you don't want to knit but still would like to have the booties, I do knit on commission. And if you have a pattern that you would like to share or talk about it, just post a comment.

See you next time

If girls can be truckers...

...well, guys can be knitters!

Or something like that.

Take a look at this interesting piece of news:

"It's True: Guys Join the Knitting Craze"
"a lot of guys are taking up knitting, especially as the hobby surges in popularity on college campuses, in coffee shops and at the many yarn stores that are sprouting up in cities across the country."

You can read the entire article here.

My best friend is having a baby

I hope you are all clicking those needles!! I know I am!!

See, my best friend is having a baby and I’ve been working non stop to create a baby blanket that comes with a little cardigan and a matching bonnet. It has a new combination of stitches that I haven't tried before so it is taking a little more time than I expected

I promise I will put the pictures next week.

To all of you who have been writing to me many, many thanks for your e-mails. If I haven’t sent you the pattern that you requested yet, it is because I usually "go as I knit" and most of the time I don’t take notes about sizes or stitches. Just be a little patient and I will send it to you.

I am having lots of fun putting my knitting projects on line and reading your e-mails. But don't forget to leave your comments in the blog so we can share our ideas and make it even more interesting.

Baby blanket and shoes

The perfect gift for the perfect friend.

This set took me one week to complete. It uses a combination of knitting and purling that requires some experience. The blanket project can be completed by students at medium skills level. The baby shoes require more advanced skills.
